What I Learned
At The 2015 Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas
by Reviewer Rob
I attended because, for the past two or three years, girls I know who are art models were going and asked me if I would be there. I hadn’t, until this year. I wanted to take the pulse of the adult industry, as it were, measure its vitals, check its anal temperature. So this year in mid-January I sailed into Vegas aboard the good ship Reviewer on a voyage of discovery.
What I confirmed was no big surprise, unless you’ve been hiding from the news that what was considered a multi-billion dollar industry ten years ago is now being said to be in such decline that in five years there may not be anyone making money from internet porn. The main cause for this decline, it’s agreed by industry professionals, is an over-saturation of the market with free and pirated content video. Okay, this we knew. But what I didn’t know is that some people appear to be prospering in spite of that, and this is what I wanted to find out more about.
I’ll add posts and stories here later but for now I’ll just say I leanred three important things. Or at least they were re-revealed to me, and made more clear. These naked truths are:
1. Porn is a serious business.
2. Porn is a dying business.
3. Porn is populated by normal people.
More details will follow later. For now, please feel free to enjoy the show.
