Matador Celebrates Its 21st Birthday With A Vegas Blowout

From laist.com

Ready for a road trip? Indie super label Matador is turning 21 this year. And what would any right-minded individual do to celebrate that milestone birthday? Head to Vegas of course.

The Matador at 21 music festival, to take place at The Palms, October 1-3, boasts a ridiculous lineup drawing from all eras of the label’s deep, consistently strong roster – past and present.

The confirmed acts so far are Pavement, Sonic Youth, Belle & Sebastian, Spoon, Yo La Tengo, Cat Power, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The New Pornographers, Superchunk, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Chavez, Fucked Up, Guitar Wolf, Girls, Harlem, Cold Cave, Shearwater, Kurt Vile, and Jeffery Joe Jensen. LAist is particularly psyched for a reunion of Guided By Voices “classic lineup”.

Holding out for a Pizzicato Five reunion? There are sure to be more surprises announced in the coming weeks. More acts and ticket information is expected to be announced… Sign up for the mailing list here to stay in the loop. Or go here for the latest updates.
