Searching 4 Mr. right. com

paperback indy how-to, by Rene D. Schultz

[Note: this book’s packaging looked like it contained shabbily-produced drivel, and the author sounded kinda bitchy on the phone, so it took me a while to find someone to review it. Lots of writers passed after seeing the cover. Also of note – this book has no affiliation to the Diversionary Theater play in San Diego about four gay men, that ran in June of ’08, in case Google brought you here looking for that. ~Editor]

Searching 4 Mr right. com is a witty and timeless book. We ALL, no matter who you are, have tried internet dating and most of you can relate to the dates and people Miss Schultz has been on. Everything from a 6 foot four 210 pound Elvis look-a-like who was looking for someone like his mommy to the one-percenter who’s gravely voice and obsession with motorcycles was a real… ehhh… charmer? When I read this book I was often laughing and also sad that so many jerks reside in this world. I think Rene D. Schultz is a great writer and REALLY knows what she’s looking for and defiantly what she is NOT!

I was so amused as how she described the emails passed back and forth before the date “Hey darlin’ let me no when u want 2 take a putt thru da santa cruise mts. Ib waitin’ 2 hear from u…” as well as describing in great detail how their voice sounded on the phone, “His deep gravelly voice echoed through the phone.” And in “madprofessor” she talks about chemistry being only one-sided sometimes. She stays real with the strangeness and often-lovely stories in this book.

Each chapter is a screen name of a guy she met, and in each chapter you defiantly feel her horror when seeing these weirdos for the first time. She describes everything so vividly as if you were there. Men and women alike will be able to relate to this book if you’ve ever dated off dating sites!
