[Hippie Vibe]

She asked to clean my apartment

Unscheduled 1997 maid service from a girl I met who was window shopping barefoot while I was driving home from work. While driving by I saw her and immediately pulled over to say hi and asked her if I could shoot art photos of her. She’s wearing a sundress and, it turned out, nothing underneath (just like I like it), was real pretty, with a kind of hippie vibe, had a great figure and fine looking legs. Before we hung out she unexpectedly volunteered to clean my bathroom. We ate food and hung out, nice. She was a smoker but didn’t light up in my pad. I’d recently moved into the North Park apartment from the looks of the sparsely-furnished living room and how clean the carpet is. She gave me her phone number and I called her a day or so later. Some guy answered the phone, said she wasn’t there but assured me she’d be back. #artnude #girlfromtheneighborhood

Afterward I was always reminded happily of it when listening to that Pogues’s song Dirty Old Town. I know it’s about old London, but to me at least the vibe applied to San Diego at the time and place I met her:

Spring’s a girl from the streets at night
