The dirt on Dirt

If you watch TV regularly then you know that FX has a brand new original series called Dirt, which aired the day after New Years. They’ve been promoting it for several months and very heavily in December, which kind of makes a person tune out and become uninterested. I do love Rescue Me and Nip/Tuck however, so I wanted to see if Dirt would be as good. Dirt stars Courtney Cox who plays Lucy Spiller, the editor of Now and Dirt magazines.
I’m not a big fan of Hollywood or Celebrity gossip myself but the concept did seem pretty interesting. I had a very hard time watching it though and could ‘t really get into it. In fact, I had a hard time focusing on it and started to tune out at some parts. Overall, the show failed to keep my attention and focus and keep me entertained. As far as the storyline goes, I found it to be dry and boring and also inactivating. The lyrics in the song for the promo are “this time you’ve gone too far,” FX this viewer says this time you haven’t gone far enough. The best part about the show however is the special effects and stunts which where amazing and spectacular. The special and visual effects where very intricate and almost as high tech as the ones on CSI. I will give the show a second chance next week but I doubt I’m going to be a regular viewer. If you’re reading this though, please do me a favor and wake me up when Rescue Me returns.
