Frederic Edwin Church’s “The Heart of the Andes” on display at Luminous Views Gallery
Reviewer TV video interview
Micheal Slattery is a San Diego art gallery owner and photographer who specializes in the sale of multi-image, light-drenched, high-resolution versions of his own photography where he takes 20 or so photos of a landscape or building and then digitally combines them for one highly fantasmagorical picture he then sells as a large framed piece of wall art for about prices ranging $500 and up. His gallery in Banker’s Hill dear downtown currently has on display a very detailed reproduction of the 19th century American painter Frederic Edwin Church’s masterpiece “The Heart of the Andes”. Slattery points to Church and this painting in particular as a source of inspiration for him.
He spoke with Rob on Reviewer TV about why.
