Fusion. It\u2019s that inescapable moment when two objects are brought together and their inherent energy is released with an explosive reaction. Hugh Gaskins and the G String Daddies have managed to find that in music. <\/p>\n

Somewhere between the sad guitar licks of the 1950\u2019s bluesman, the energy of the greats likes Rye Cooter, and the sheer power of the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies that makes you just want to throw away your cares and dance, Hugh Gaskins came along. And just when you think you\u2019ve heard it all, here comes the flamenco guitar work, and in the best tradition of the Spanish masters, he fuses it seamlessly into his rockin\u2019 blues riffs.<\/p>\n

With a few well placed strums of his guitar, he reaches out to your soul, bypasses your mind, and makes you want to move your feet. Too many blues and rockabilly artists these days mistake skill for soul, using fancy finger-work to replace depth of feeling. <\/p>\n
