As Guild President he developed the first democratically juried art exhibition for the organization at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/art\/Guild\/splsh.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Boehm Gallery<\/span><\/a> in Palomar College and by changing outdated policies, helped grow the Guild membership from 140 to over 600 artists during a two year period. During his tenure with SDMA he started a policy of sharing with other institutions. The Guild joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oma-online.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Oceanside Museum of Art<\/span><\/a> as a circle member and he worked with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artcenter.org\/museum\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">California Center for the Arts, Escondido Museum<\/span><\/a> on a strategic planning committee to help reopen the museum after it was closed by the city. He is also the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdvag.net\/History%20index.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">&#8220;The Living History of the Guild&#8221;<\/span><\/a> and was the creator of and contributor to a cutting-edge online magazine called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artistsezine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Artists Ezine<\/span><\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #dddddd;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">. ..\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">A long-term resident of Carlsbad, California, he was the co-founder and co-managing trustee of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandiegosculpture.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Outdoor Art Foundation<\/span><\/a>. He served on the board of the <a href=\"http:\/\/synergyart.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Synergy Art Foundation<\/span><\/a> and worked with the committee of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdvisualarts.net\/sdvan_new\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">San Diego Visual Arts Network<\/span><\/a>. He also served on the board of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cofac101.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">COFAC<\/span><\/a> (Consejo Fronterizo de Arte y Cultura &#8211; Border Council of Arts &amp; Culture) and worked with the committee of the Oceanside Museum of Art Artists Alliance. He was the founder and web-person for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdvag.net\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">San Diego Visual Artists Guild<\/span><\/a>, and aided in the creation of a cooperative artist gallery in downtown San Diego (1098 9th Ave.) called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdvag.net\/Fine%20Art%20Gallery.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">SDVAG Fine Art Gallery<\/span><\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #dddddd;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">. .. <\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">Dennis was the founder and the executive director of a charitable organization called, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museumartistsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Museum Artists Foundation<\/span><\/a> (MAF). As director of MAF, in accordance with its policy of sharing with other organizations, he presented an elegant fundraiser called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facade.museumartistsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">&#8220;Fa\u00e7ade&#8221;<\/span><\/a> in conjunction with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smallopera.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Small Opera<\/span><\/a> of San Diego on May 21, 2005. He helped create and designed a multi-phased curated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdnhm.org\/exhibits\/wildlife\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Wildlife Art Exhibition &amp; Sale<\/span><\/a>, which was open to all regional artists, in the San Diego Natural History Museum, Balboa Park, dates August 12, 2005 &#8211; January 1, 2006. He assisted in the creation of two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandiegosculpture.org\/events\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Carlsbad Masquerades<\/span><\/a>, held on February 25, 2006 and February 24, 2007, to benefit the Outdoor Art Foundation&#8217;s Outdoor Art Initiative. He also partnered with Doctors Offering Charitable Services (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.docscharity.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">DOCS<\/span><\/a>) to create<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> <span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unveiling.museumartistsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">&#8220;The Unveiling&#8221;<\/span><\/a><\/span> <\/span> an Art and Opera fundraiser held on May 19, 2007. He created and keeps current a comprehensive database of over 2,900 regional visual artists including 2,000 email addresses. This database has been shared with several organizations looking for artists to donate work or enter exhibitions. It is growing, kept current, and is made available on request for museums and qualified art organizations.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #dddddd;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">. .. <\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">In January 2007 Dennis launched a new business venture called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualfineartgallery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Virtual Fine Art<\/span><\/a>. He was the owner and President of the company, which features a 3D Interactive Virtual Art Museum. Dennis was a member of the executive steering committee for a local think tank, Imagine Carlsbad. In May, 2007 Dennis was invited to join the San Diego Group Leaders, a multi-organizational networking group of professionals and leaders of various charitable organizations. He was then put on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.campbellnetworks.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Campbell Networks<\/span><\/a> with his own events list, which provides information on events for artists, fans of art and those who wish to support the arts, primarily those with an interest in the visual arts. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #dddddd;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">. .. <\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">Since then, Dennis assisted Martin E. Petersen, curator emeritus of the San Diego Museum of Art, to publish his manuscript called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aliceklauber.museumartistsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">&#8220;Alice Klauber&#8221;<\/span><\/a>online. He was also the curator of a new art gallery, part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newvillagearts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">New Village Arts Theater<\/span><\/a>, in Carlsbad. He created the website for San Diego&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moversandshakers.sdvag.net\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Movers &amp; Shakers<\/span><\/a> in the art world.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #dddddd;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">. .. <\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">Dennis was the artist\/curator for<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\"> an exhibition in the Parker Gallery of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oma-online.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Oceanside Museum of Art<\/span><\/a>called <em>Commesso: Made in America &#8220;Gemstone Fine Art.&#8221;<\/em> The show ran from March 2 &#8211; May 1, 2009. This is the first art museum exhibition of commesso di pietre dure e tenere created by American artists. He talked about the exhibition to a standing room only audience on April 25, 2009. In 2009 he joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinkpartysd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Pink Party<\/span><\/a> team and became their art curator and webmaster. In 2010 and 2011 he was the art curator for the<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> <span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crimevictimsfund.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Crime Victims Fund<\/span><\/a><\/span> <\/span>annual benefit.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #dddddd;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">. .. <\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">Recently Dennis joined with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.houseofthefuture.sdvag.net\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">House of the Future<\/span><\/a> to create and promote incredible art happenings. He is assisting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oma-online.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Oceanside Museum of Art<\/span><\/a>, and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandiego-fair.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Art San Diego Contemporary Art Fair<\/span><\/a> with promotion of their events.
