Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors, as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction. And although I&#8217;m uncertain if I gained any insight into <em>Asian cultural heritage<\/em>, I did enjoy myself.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7160\/6774831837_4405604da7.jpg?resize=500%2C333\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Asian food:<\/strong> Check. (cheap, good)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7169\/6774824759_703b159a3e_b.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7169\/6774824759_703b159a3e.jpg?resize=500%2C333\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Very yummy fruit that&#8217;s (seemingly) hard to get in San Diego (in my world) + sugar cane juice and 2$ Coconuts!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7150\/6774840599_1f2729d48b_b.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7150\/6774840599_1f2729d48b.jpg?resize=500%2C333\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And I talkin&#8217; really good Coconut &#8212; not like the ones I always end up buying at the store.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7006\/6774847337_7334b91198_b.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7006\/6774847337_7334b91198.jpg?resize=333%2C500\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rides:<\/strong> Check. (cheap, scary, dizzy, glad to be alive, but fun). A lighter traveling at 75mph flew off The Kamikaze and missed us by a few inches. This one&#8217;s safe. OK <a href=\"http:\/\/kearnymesafestival.com\/entertainment.html\">Yes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Admission:<\/strong> $5 Adult &#8212; worth it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall:<\/strong> Strange and wonderful way to spend an evening. Go this weekend before it&#8217;s too late &#8212; ends Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEADS UP:<\/strong> There&#8217;s no beer garden, but there is a very well stocked liquor store across the street, <a href=\"http:\/\/sandiegobeerstore.com\/\">Mesa Liquor &amp; Wine<\/a> on Convoy.
