I think those people should be revered as heroes in today&#8217;s musical culture. If there is anything worth saving in this world it&#8217;s old music and there&#8217;s plenty of ancient vinyl that still needs to make the transition to modern CD format.<\/p>\n<p>Several years ago when Fat Possum Records came out with their <i>TRUE BEATS FROM THE DELTA<\/i> release I thought it was the best thing since radio because it was preserving a quickly vanishing entity that was priceless. Sure there was a monetary motive there, but still, the fact that they went for it and found those old musicians and gave them another shot at the brass ring was pretty cool. Lot&#8217;s of them didn&#8217;t have a pot to piss in, I&#8217;m sure.<\/p>\n<p>To find from long dead artists is almost as good but no less important, from an historical perspective. And that goes for all genres: rock, blues, punk, hell even disco.
