Can you contribute $25 so we can fight back?

Contribute Now!
Dear MoveOn member,

This morning, in cities around the country, $15 MILLION in pro-war TV ads are going on the air. The ads, sponsored by a White House front group, push for us to stay in Iraq for years or decades more.

The Republican ads are emotional, and they’ll be able to saturate the airwaves most of the cities they’re running in. They lie— linking Iraq and 9/11. And unless we can get up on the air to fight back, they may be effective in helping President Bush keep the war going.

Our ad producers have been working day and night to put together ads that we think can counter the White House onslaught. But to produce, test, and start to run the ads, we need to raise about $200,000 in the next 24 hours. Can you chip in $25 to help?

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/15mil.html?id=11136-4454980-bqzkI4&t=2

The White House knows that we’re entering a pivotal period on Iraq. Republicans are ready to break with the President. Democrats are gearing up to push for an end to the war.
So they’ve engineered a last big attack—$15 million to hold the line until the end of September. The White House is hoping that if the Republicans can make it that long—if they can hold the line through the next few weeks—their policy of occupation will continue for a year or more.

That’s why now’s the time to push with everything we’ve got. In thousands of events this summer, we’ve pushed Republicans to listen to the voters and do the right thing, and pushed Democrats to lead the way out of the war. Just yesterday, tens of thousands of us gathered to make news in hundreds of communities around the country—generating headlines like “We want our troops home soon” in Muncie, IN and “Vigil to end Iraq war stays lit despite rain” in Green Bay, WI.

All of the pressure we’ve been building this summer comes to a head in the next few weeks. And we can’t let the White House take our momentum away. We’ve got to get on the air NOW, rebutting their lies and reminding Congress where the American people really stand.

We can’t tap millionaires like the White House can. But we are 3.2 million people who are ready to end this war. And if each of us chips in a little, we can make sure the White House won’t get away with $15 million in lies and deception. Can you chip in $25 now?

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/15mil.html?&id=11136-4454980-bqzkI4&t=3

Together, we can go head-to-head with the White House. And we will.

Thanks for everything you do,

–Nita, Carrie, Karin, Jennifer, and the MoveOn.org Political Action Team
Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Support our member-driven organization: MoveOn.org Political Action is entirely funded by our 3.2 million members.
