I saw a post in my Facebook newsfeed yesterday that reminded me of something Katherine Sweetman<\/a> suggested I use in Reviewer Magazine<\/em> last year. It was a dick trick video she shot with Ron Jeremy where he describes how to get hard on command. I told her that shit like that’s easy if you’re under 30 and that no one in our readership really cares about seeing it. She demurred and said no, “it’s a trick.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, while the music and alternative entertainment scenes get smaller and more anemic as the economy continues to contract, actual big-time stars might get less and less available for independent media product and news so maybe I should use this video<\/a> that she offered back then.<\/p>\n

I should add that I interviewed Ron Jeremy in a strip club dressing room a few years ago when he was in San Diego promoting an event, a pole dancing competition maybe, I forget. The star of countless porn videos as well as the documentary Porn Star – The Legend of Ron Jeremy<\/em> (2001) was to emcee and tell jokes on stage, which he bombed at, and basically make a few bucks schlocking his name.<\/p>\n

I wanted to do a backstage “alternative showbiz” interview with him because I figured, well, he’s Ron Jeremy and has a lot of worldwide celebrity recognition. Right? I also was still under the impression that if someone was famous that must’ve meant they automatically have something important and interesting to say.<\/p>\n

Not long after 9-11, when they began using full body scanners in airports, there was a news item on TV where Jeremy was quoted as saying something like it was a reasonable thing to do because – <\/span>terrorism<\/strong>. Or something. Hey maybe porn stars can help shape public policy! [News angle alert!]<\/p>\n

So, aside from his shitty joke telling on-stage we got to experience what a dooshbag Ron Jeremy was in private. After a relatively calm few minutes he suddenly got set off about something insignificant and began stomping about the dressing room whining and throwing a tantrum like a chubby little brat. End of interview. I didn’t even get around to asking him if he was still able to give himself a blowjob like they say he could when he was younger.<\/p>\n

Yeah, I’d hoped it would be impressive to get a good interview with Ron Jeremy but he was really just a dick.<\/p>\n
