Straight from Lyon, France, bar band The Pustules brought their high-school marching-band horn antics to Ocean Beach and played at the Harp on Newport Avenue on Sunday, the night after grooving a larger crowd up the street at Portugalia. They performed a long set that included many recognizable covers such as “Whiskey Bar” by The Doors and “Good Vibrations” by The Beach Boys. The crowd was sparse at first, but filled out later, and the band was surprisingly not unpleasant for French people. All considered, it was an entertaining shoot.<\/p>\n
