Hotel Londres) was a common place of passage, a place of waiting where for years thousands of migrants identified this space as a sanctuary to rest, renew energy and gather information to continue their journey.\u00a0 A place of pilgrims, monarch butterflies, in search of the sweetness of a better life, a place where these modern gypsies left the walls drenched in the sweetness of their dream.\u00a0 We would like to honor them, emulators of the monarch butterfly, taking into this new adventure their inspiration to join the movement in the transformation of our<br \/>\nCity.\u00a0 The intention is to house artists from Southern California and all over the world, including artists from other cities in Mexico.\u00a0 <strong>The studios are available for rent to artists for one year, three (3) months or on a monthly basis at an average rent of $300 US unfurnished and $500 US furnished.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong> The studios have an average of 660 sq. ft., consisting of one bedroom with closet, <\/strong><strong>working area, kitchenette, and bathroom with shower and hot water. The building is totally secured. Free Wi-Fi. US cell phones can be used to call the US and to receive calls from the US.\u00a0 There is a Gallery space \u201cPapillion,\u201d 550 sq. ft of floor space, 79&#8243; of linear space, 8 ft high wall space (632 cubic ft.) will be available to residents for two <\/strong><strong>weeks a year.\u00a0<\/strong> The main building has a mid-50\u2019s construction modernist architecture of the so- called \u201cretro\u201d style.\u00a0 Why is Colonia Federal in Tijuana a perfect place for San Diego artists? Colonial Federal is located right at the border next to the entrance gate to Mexico. The neighborhood is isolated from Tijuana by the border, Tijuana River and Highway No. 1 entrance to Mexico.
