People are asking, “Why is 1% of the country is doing so well, while 99% get squeezed? Why do things seem so unfair? And what can we all do about it?”

To deepen this conversation, we’re organizing teach-ins on November 9th called “How the 1% Crashed the Economy” in partnership with Rebuild the Dream Innovation Fund. We hope to see teach-ins at libraries, living rooms, campuses, and community centers across the country.

Can you host a teach-in in San Diego?

Yes, I can host.

Hosting a teach-in is easy. You don’t need to know a lot about the economy. We provide the materials and the information. All you need is a computer and a space to bring people together.

With leading progressive economists, Rebuild The Dream Innovation Fund created a simple slide presentation and a discussion guide that anyone can use. It tells the story of how the 1% changed the rules, crashed the economy and what we can do to take the country back. It gives everyone a chance to share their own experiences, talk about problems and solutions together, and learn from one other.

Can you volunteer?

Yes, I can lead a teach-in on Nov. 9.

Once you sign up to host, we’ll share the complete set of materials with you, including a PowerPoint file and a discussion guide. It’s ready to go out out of the box.

And it’s customizable—you can add your own ideas and make it your own. Do you know things about the local economy, or solutions in your area? This is “open source” which means you have the option to add your own special knowledge to the discussion and the agenda.

Invite your friends, neighbors, and family to join your teach-in. We’ll also let MoveOn members in your area know about your event.

Click here if you can host in San Diego on Nov. 9:

www.moveon.org/r?r=266335&id=32437-14611215-NLbF%3Dfx&t=5″>www.moveon.org/r?r=266335&id=32437-14611215-NLbF%3Dfx&t=5

Thanks for all you do,

–Lenore, Michael, Anna, Robin, and the rest of the team

[Email] 99% vs. the 1%: Organizing Moveon.org’s Local Teach-Ins.
