The gritty guitars slide nicely into the first crunch of B.B. Cox’s angry-sexy voice. The album kicks up a notch for the second track, “Dirty Brown” (one of my favorites). While most of the lyrics throughout the CD beg a filthy name, the overzealous word choices in “Just for Shits” detract from the fabulous sneering riffs underneath. “See the Green” raises an eyebrow with a kick-ass vibraslap and a final tag chord typical of ‘50’s rock-n-roll or Big Band jazz. Southern rock, blues, and soul find their place here, as well. Another favorite track is the final “For the Lack,” which weaves groovy vocal harmonies and chord changes through the chorus and bridge. With a name like Mofo Daniels, a guitarist had better rock the strings. Cox and drummer CB Charlie help him to do just that on this dirty-good romp.
