Emily Haines’ solo debut Knives Don’t Have Your Back<\/i> would be impressive even for a band that’s been together for years. Yet Haines hasn’t always played with the Soft Skeletons, the backing band on Knives<\/i>; the music veteran has an incredible resume, singing with Metric full-time and backing The Stills and Broken Social Scene. Despite her fabulous track record, “Doctor Blind” off Knives<\/i> might be the best song she’s ever produced, full of lilting hesitation.
