Back in the late 90\u2019s this category was called y\u2019alt-country and was an emerging genre. I liked it then and still do. This is a little campy but sounds sincere. Style ranges from twangy vocals \u00e0 la SD\u2019s Bartender\u2019s Bible to heavy guitar-driven rock bar metal and then back to surf music that aspires to The Ventures but slightly slower and less complicated, and with a consistent funny bone. Admittedly I have a special fondness for this stuff. So I can overlook some of the camp.
