I want to get right to the point. The election is 4 weeks from today. I’m working hard to turn the mess in Iraq around\u2014but I need more good people in Congress with me. The folks below are some of the best. Can you chip in $25 or more to help them finish their campaigns? Click on the link.<\/p>\n

A year ago when I presented my plan for Iraq, I did it to provide leadership and protect our troops. The Republicans have spent their time name-calling while the situation for our troops in Iraq gets worse.<\/p>\n
They’ve tried to smear me, other veterans, Democrats, you and anybody who stands up to them. Well, let me say one thing right now: screw them. Those gravestones at Arlington cemetery don’t say Democrat or Republican on them.<\/p>\n
We are all patriots.<\/p>\n
But as long as Republicans are in charge, they’re just going to keep playing politics instead of doing what needs to be done for the American people. And that’s why we need to throw them out of power\u2014as many of them as possible.<\/p>\n
I’ve traveled around the country and met a lot of our candidates. They’re outstanding people.<\/p>\n
This week three top candidates\u2014Lois Murphy (PA-6), Chris Carney (PA-10) and Zack Space (OH-18)\u2014need the funds for critical final campaign spending. Can you step up and chip in $25 or more? Click below.<\/p>\n

At this point in the campaign your support is the difference for these candidates. If you’ve already contributed I need you to do it again. If you haven’t contributed yet (and you can) I want you to get off your backside.<\/p>\n
I know that you and I might not agree on everything but we agree that to change course in Iraq we need a big change in leadership in Washington.<\/p>\n
I’ve never been one to go out front and lead the charge in the elections\u2014but I learned that these Republicans in charge right now couldn’t care less about getting out of Iraq. Only a switch of power will change things.<\/p>\n
I heard about how you’re supporting great patriots running for Congress like Iraq veteran Patrick Murphy who backs my plan to get out of Iraq. You can do it again.<\/p>\n
