SD Film Mixer

The San Diego Student Film Festival and San Diego Independent Filmmakers Consortium invite local filmmakers and interested parties to attend the first San Diego Pitchfests and 

Mixer, Friday, September 21, from 7-9, at the Four Points Sheraton, 8110 Aero Drive San Diego, CA 92123

Are you an producer, actor, director of photography, sound engineer, director, photographer, writer, production designer, costume designer, makeup artist, motion graphics artist, SFX artist, graphic designer, colorist, sound/score designer, or do you have other skills that film producers need? Do you have a film project you need help with? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this is the event for you!

Get involved in local independent film productions and join the San Diego Independent Film Consortium (SDIFC) and the San Diego Student Film Festival (SDSFF) for the inaugural kick off our first pitch fest and mixer.

This event is open to all that participate in the film making process, as well as those involved in distribution, finance, and academia. Even if you are just trying to figure out how to break into the business, this event is for you!

Our initial goals are to unite and organize the local film-making community, create opportunities for collaborationon projects and increase the quantity and quality of films being produced in and around San Diego. Our long term goals are to increase funding, employment and distribution opportunities for local filmmakers.

Mixer:
The mixer is an exceptional networking opportunity. We encourage each filmmaker/actor, etc., to bring headshots, contact cards, screeners, reels, links to work, writing samples, and/or any other information that you would like to distribute to the various participants. The mixer will provide a relaxed atmosphere with cocktail service available through the hotel.

Pitchfest:
You can apply to do a two-minute speaking pitch (space limited). Local producers and scriptwriters will be given two minutes each to pitch their script or their current production to the participants. There will be specific guidelines and a strict time limit. Those who are pitching will need tostate what types of skills/cast/crew they are specifically looking for. You can apply for current or upcoming (October) two-minute pitch positions. By pitching your project at the SDSFF and SDIFC mixer, you can not only find cast and crew to make it happen, but you can get help with marketing and screening your final film while also getting access to a community of, filmmakers and potential collaborators who want to see you succeed.

About The San Diego Student Film Festival:
Founded in 2012 by students at San Diego City College, the San Diego Student Film Festival serves as an open forum for local student film making.The goal of the festival is to provide an annual forum that supports San
